I have a mediawiki installation but it doesn't seem to work when I follow your steps. It doesn't do an autologin. Any ideas?

Solution 1: Check your self

All information is correct?

  • The database settings in localsettings is from the Joomla database or is incorrect (error: Call to undefined function wgDebug())
  • The security key in Joomla and MediaWiki are the same (The wiki login, but incorrect)
  • The path name is correct - check capitals (authjoomla2 isn't AuthJoomla2) (error: No such file or directory in /var/www/joomlatest/wiki/LocalSettings.php on line 169/5)

Solution 2: directory path

  • Is this the full path to your wiki site? (error: MediaWiki Login Plugin - Invalid Mediawiki Directory Path: ... )

Solution 3: wiki path, prefix and domain

Your browser give a lot of information. The browser can tell you what cookies are set and their values. (Use Firefox!). You can read the path, prefix and domain.

  • default path: '/'
  • default prefix: name of wiki database (you can change the default in localsettings: $wgCookiePrefix)
  • default domain (v1.1): empty, is the wiki in a subdomain and the bridge don't work you can set the subdomain as value

Tips

  • The exisiting user is no problem. The first time the user goes to the wiki will synchronize the user database. Make sure the sysop the username is admin, then the admin in Joomla directly sysop in the wiki.
  • Read full path: go to the administrator panel - menu help - system info - tab directory permission read the value by cache directory and you have the full path to your site.
